Aquarium Knowledge is a free aquarium knowledge base, offered in good faith. These terms set out how the site may be used and where our responsibility ends.

Acceptance of these terms
By using Aquarium Knowledge (aquariumknowledge.com) — including its aquarium tools, wiki, articles, and knowledge base — you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What Aquarium Knowledge is
Aquarium Knowledge is a free, non-commercial knowledge base for the aquarium hobby: calculators, reference pages, and articles about fishkeeping, planted tanks, and aquarium equipment. We do not sell products, we do not take orders, and we do not handle payments. When we mention gear, it is only equipment that our contributors — hobbyists with at least five years of hands-on experience — have personally bought and tested; such mentions are opinions from real use, not offers to sell.
Educational purpose — no professional advice
All content is provided for general educational purposes. It is not veterinary, medical, or professional advice, and it cannot account for the specific conditions of your tank. Livestock health, water chemistry, and equipment safety decisions remain your responsibility. When in doubt, consult a qualified aquatic veterinarian or an experienced local mentor.
Calculators and estimates
Our tools (such as the aquarium volume calculator) produce mathematical estimates from the numbers you enter. Results depend on the accuracy of your measurements and on simplifications stated on each tool’s page (for example, inside-dimension measurement and displacement assumptions). Always verify critical numbers yourself before dosing chemicals, mixing salt, or buying equipment. Aquarium Knowledge is not liable for losses, livestock, or damage resulting from use of its calculators.
No warranties
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We work hard to keep the knowledge base correct and current, but aquarium practice evolves and errors can occur. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aquarium Knowledge and its contributors are not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from use of the site.
Acceptable use
You may use the site freely for personal, hobbyist purposes. You agree not to: interfere with or overload the site’s infrastructure; scrape or republish substantial parts of the content to compete with or rebrand as your own; misrepresent AI-generated or commercial content as Aquarium Knowledge material; or use the contact email for spam, harassment, or illegal content.
Content ownership and sharing
The text, tools, and design of Aquarium Knowledge are owned by Aquarium Knowledge and its contributors unless noted otherwise. You may link to any page freely, quote short excerpts with attribution and a link, and print tool results for personal use. Wholesale copying of articles or wiki pages requires written permission — just ask via the contact page; hobbyist and educational use is usually approved.
Third-party links
Links to other websites (for example, when we mention where gear can be found) are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, prices, availability, or policies.
Availability
Aquarium Knowledge is a small, independently run project. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and features may change or be withdrawn. If the site is ever discontinued, we will aim to keep the most useful knowledge accessible for as long as practical.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the project grows. The current version always lives at aquariumknowledge.com/terms-and-conditions/, with the revision date shown below. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
